We’re a month away from the kickoff of our next Level 1 Certification in the Embodiment Tradition. As we get closer to the start of this training, I often think back to my own initial training with Dr. Lissa Friedman, founder of the tradition and school, and how it transformed my life.
As someone who had never heard of the Enneagram before working with Dr. Friedman, I quickly became fascinated by how much this wisdom system offered me in terms of understanding myself and others. And unlike other training I’d taken, its effects began to ripple out into the rest of my life immediately.
I found I couldn’t stop talking about the Enneagram to friends and family. I wondered about what others’ core types could be, and started reexamining the stories I told about other people, instead seeing how many of them were projections of my fixated type structure. I started bringing what I was learning into relationship dynamics, gaining a new ability to see multiple sides of a given experience. I got more honest with myself about the masks I put on and the ways I gave up my agency to others.
And I didn’t go into my first training with the intention to teach the Enneagram. That came later, naturally, as my conversations with friends evolved into something more concrete. Casual chats with coworkers grew into my first official workplace training. Exploration with good friends planted seeds for collaborative retreats.
All this is to say that if you aren’t interested in teaching the Enneagram or using it professionally, but still want to go deeper in your own learning, Level 1 has something profound to offer you. There’s no pressure to build an offering or market yourself as a teacher. Level 1 is a chance to show up for yourself, with radical honesty and compassionate curiosity.
That doesn’t just go for people interested in deeper self-study. It’s something we can promise to every member of this cohort.
If you’re feeling called, now is the time to sign up. Only 3 spots remain in this year’s training.
