Home of the Embodiment Tradition
Lissa Friedman, PhD set the roots of our school when she began teaching the Enneagram over 2 decades ago. Prior to developing the Embodiment Tradition, Lissa studied the Enneagram with the Arica School founded by Oscar Ichazo. In the 1990s, she left the Arica School to study with other teachers and experientially through her private practice work with clients.
In 2001, Lissa developed a 3-part Enneagram series and spent a decade teaching. She has published 5 articles in the Enneagram Monthly, presented at 4 International Enneagram Conferences, and published a DVD series of interviews with people of each type.
In 2013, Lissa's daughter, Tammy Hendrix, LCSW joined the Enneagram School of Awakening and developed the Direct Path programs focusing on the divine essential qualities of the Enneagram. Tammy began studying the Enneagram in 2002 and spent a decade learning from the contemporary Enneagram masters including being an apprentice with Lissa for years.. Tammy loves exploring the sacred realms of the Enneagram and discovering ways to integrate other spiritual traditions.
